Getting started

Now that you’ve decided that Video Slideshow Productions can make the best musical photo album for your event, there are only a few steps you need to take to get things under way.

 First consider your audience and the subject

 Weddings, Engagement Parties, Rehearsal Dinners, Anniversaries, Graduations, Reunions, Holiday Parties, Birthday Parties, Sweet Sixteen, Retirement Parties, Pregnancy, New Baby, Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Memorial Albums, or special holidays (i.e. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Marriage Proposals) etc. 

If you want to debut your video slide show that highlights your guest/s of honor at any even such as the ones we mentioned, it is recommended that your video not exceed 15 minutes.  Fifteen minutes is long enough to keep your guests entertained, but not too long where they feel the video is dragging out.   A fifteen minute video usually consists of a maximum of 3 songs and a maximum of 120 photos.  Sounds like a lot of pictures, doesn’t it?  I thought so too, but the transitions and animations our musical slide shows contain will keep you guests enthralled and hanging on to every second of the film.   We recommend the Premier Package.

Family Albums

Most families have so many pictures; they hardly know what to do with the abundance of snapshots that are overflowing from their photo albums.  Putting your pictures together in one musical photo album is a better way of walking down memory lane.  We recommend the Excelsior Package since this package can hold up to 200 pictures. 

Family or Class Reunions

If you’re having an event with a looping video feed display, we recommend the Standard Package.  This package allows more pictures within one song; however does not have animation or transitions allowing more time for more pictures to be displayed. 

Choose your pictures

Choosing between your many memorable snapshots will probably be the hardest task!  Once you’ve chosen your package of choice using our suggestions above, you’ll now need to choose the appropriate amount of pictures for your package of choice.  Our packages are pretty flexible, so if you go over the given amount of pictures, not to worry!   Check out the “Additions” portion on our Packages page to see what additional charges will apply should you add another song or extra pictures.  Or, if our packages don’t fit your needs, we can design a custom package specifically for your event or subject. 

Video Layout

For most (if not all) videos, it is probably best to label your pictures in chronological order so the video can display them in date order as well.  It would make sense and would be more organized if you keep the flow of pictures from “youngest to oldest”.  If you are providing us with hardcopy photos, label the back of the pictures in pencil in chronological order.  If you are saving the pictures to disk to provide us for the production of your album, save each picture in numerical order from first to last.

Color Scheme

Do you have a favorite color or does your event have a color scheme?  It’s simple, go with what you like.  Check out our background themes or let us design one just for you. 

Music

Once you’ve chosen your package of choice, you’ll have an idea of how many songs you need to choose as well.   If you’re having trouble picking a song, we can help!
