Seven Tips for creating a successful Video Slideshow

Don't forget your audience!

When choosing photos for your slideshow, don't forget to keep your audience in mind.  Choose pictures that your audience can relate to and will appreciate.  For example, if you are using your Video Slideshow Production for your rehearsal dinner for your wedding, you might want to include pictures of your wedding party. 

Timing is everything

It's understandable that you want to include as many beautiful pictures as possible in your slideshow; however, sometimes shorter is better.  For example, if you are using your Video Slideshow Production for your wedding reception, you might not want to make it any longer than 15 minutes (approximately 3 songs).  Anything longer than that may seem drawn out and you may lose the interest of your audience. 

Choose your pictures wisely

Your Video Slideshow will only be as good as the quality of the photos you choose.  Be sure to choose pictures that are not torn or that do not appear grainy or dark.  These pictures may not present well during your slideshow.   Need some pointers on taking better photos?  Click here!

The right angle

Landscape pictures will show better in your slideshow than pictures that were taken in a portrait setting.  Landscape pictures will fill up the whole screen on your television screen when it is viewed.  Portrait pictures will have a black frame around the sides unless you choose to incorporate a color scheme to your video.

Don't forget the music

Choose a song/s that are meaningful to you and that go hand in hand with your subject and the photos you have taken.  Make sure the song is appropriate for the occasion.  If you are having trouble choosing your music, contact us!  We can help!

Testing, 1...2...3

Prior to your big video debut, test all your equipment.  Faulty equipment may be an embarrassing situation - especially if your big debut is a wedding reception or any other event with a large group of people.

Take advantage of captions, title pages, and credits to get your message across to your audience.  **Keep captions to one line - you don't want your wording to fill the page and cover too much of your photo.**
